* Must Watch TV! - * European Parliament in Session – The video they didn’t want you to see.  Footage of the demonstration in Strasburg on the day before Gordon Brown signed the EU treaty.

Ok so where are our real friends now.  Who are the friends of the Irish people at this rather bothersome time?

Did I hear…Yes… You over there?

“Lisbon One of the Most Monumental Betrayals in Modern Times”

We have witnessed one of the most monumental betrayals in modern times. The Irish people bravely ignored the threats from their own government and Brussels and voted “NO” to the Lisbon Treaty. The Irish voted as they did, in the belief that the Lisbon Treaty would be scrapped if they rejected it. They were lied to. The heads of the 27 member states had absolutely no intention of honouring the democratic Irish vote.

If I were Irish, I would be extremely angry today with my government, the EU, but most of all I would be feel betrayed by the British government. Our government under Brown’s leadership has acted in the most underhanded and cowardly way to our neighbour and we all share in that shame. I’m embarrassed to call myself British today.

“Maybe It Was The Right Decision, you know…Ya, you.”

It is amazing that so many of the bEurocrats are acting as though they are right and the Irish people are all wrong.  Look at it this way, millions of people in Ireland voted and made their decision known, whereas put that against how many actual people in all of Europe were active in trying to put the whole package together.  I would hedge a guess that it was about less than five hundred people.

What would have happened if every country in Europe had the right to hold a referendum.  The whole trick may have been dead in the water long brfore the Irish referendum.

Ok so the politicians are embarr-assed right now.  There is no reason for Brian Cowen to feel inferior whan he goes to Europe.  The people have spoken.  Who or how many citizens asked the bEurocrats to do all this shenanigans anyway without the will of the people?

“Fair Play to British Foreign Secretary
David Miliband”

Britain has made it clear that it will continue to ratify the Lisbon Treaty but will not attempt to isolate the Irish or force them to vote again if Dublin believed the result would be another no.

“There is no question of bulldozing or bamboozling or ignoring the Irish vote,” said David Miliband the British foreign secretary. “The rules are absolutely clear. If all 27 countries do not pass the Lisbon Treaty it cannot pass into law.”

“Lisbon Treaty Cannot Come Into Force…”

The rejected Lisbon Treaty envisages a long-term president of the European Council. The rejected Lisbon Treaty envisages a stronger foreign policy chief. The rejected Lisbon Treaty envisages a mutual defence pact. The rejected Lisbon Treaty was due to take effect Jan 1st but cannot come into force if a single member fails to ratify it.

“We Could Loose Our Commissioner…”

Now that the result although not yet quite in is common knowledge.  the Nos have it, the silly reactions of the YES supporters are building up.  The embarr assed Yes men supporters are giving it all of the reasons as to why they lost.

Reasons such as “The opposition were saying that we would loose our commissioner for five years out every fifteen…  that abortion would come in through the back door…  that some nonsense about cocaine.  That we would not have any respect in europe after not accepting the Treaty.

Simply the situation is that our politicians do not know how to prepare to speak regarding important issues or how to properly convey the implications of a new internetional agreement.

Mary Harney, during the build up to the Lisbon Treaty referendum, would only say ‘Euope has been good for us… blah blah blah….’.

Well those reasons in themselves were not a reasons to vote in any particular way in the Lisbon Treaty referendum.

The situation now is that we have been traveling along the Europe road and we have come to a junction and we must decide which direction we should go for a better future.

In effect on June 12th 2008 we had to decide on “YES” to accept the treaty or “YES ”  to retain the status quo…  And the Irish people did decide to retain the status quo.  And that is the way the voting paper should be, yes for one situation or yes for another situation.  Not ”YES” or “NO”.  Pyschologically voting NO can seem negative in one way and therefore the YES side had an unfair pyschological advantage.  In fact voting NO may actually be the most positive action a voter could take.

RTE Not Balanced In Coverage Of Lisbon Treaty Referendum.”

RTE national TV station presenters were unbalanced in their commentary of issues regarding the Lisbon Treaty referendum.  Many presenters tried to subdue the NO voters while answering questions on the topic and tried to nonsense the “NO” arguments.

Pat “The Squatter” Kenny RTE on numerous occasions would shout over interviewees, speaking against the referendum.  With outbursts such as ”NO, NO, NO, BUT…”

But did not do so when dealing with pro referendum supporters.

Why is this?   Pat “The Squatter” Kenny was really angry at the result of the Irish Lisbon Treaty Referendum.

On the whole it was very noticeable that the supporters of the “NO” vote put up by far the most intelligent arguments.  They were really cool as compared with the over anxious ”YES MEN”.

Ireland’s Politicians, Servants of the People…?”

Why have nearly all of Irelands long established politicians tried to railroad and bully the Irish people into the unwanted Lisbon Treaty.

Why would it be that such a high percentage of politicians are so eager to ratify the Lisbon Treaty.  You know I smell something like… brown envelopes… ya niff niff niff…
